Your website helps position your business online available for your target audience to find.  As the website will provide some of your key digital infrastructure on which to build your value offering, it is important that the website is adequately maintained.  In order to continue at optimal performance and security, the website needs to be on an ongoing website care plan which will protect your investment and offer peace of mind for website care.

Websites that are not updated regularly are a living, breathing nightmare, filled with growing file inconsistencies and potential code conflicts.  WordPress plugins are created by multiple authors and are consistently updated to newer versions to comply with the latest version of WordPress or to address security issues and bugs.  It is not guaranteed that the mandated updates to WordPress will not break the website, nor that plugins will continue to function if not updated.

Leaving a website alone without running file package updates can cause an entire site to crash, resulting in a loss of content.   Websites need to be backed up on a regular basis.  In the event that something goes wrong, a backup of the website’s files and database can easily be reinstated.

The monthly plan will consist of executing the following services.

  • Update WordPress and installed plugins to the latest version
  • Daily backup of website database and site files (available for 14 days)
  • Optimise the WordPress database
  • Perform SPAM & revisions clean-up
  • Run regular security and performance scans
  • Perform support requests (allotted 60 minutes a month)
  • Provide a detailed monthly report of updates and findings
  • Provide ongoing email support

Specifically, the ongoing website care plan needs to fulfil the following business needs:

  • Continuous performance with reduced errors and optimal load times
  • Monitoring for any issues during WordPress and plugin updates
  • Communication with the web host on troubleshooting bugs or hosting issues
